"Education is the most effective way to empower the rural poor to get out of poverty and to ensure that the Millennium Development Goals are met” according to FAO.
Children are the future of our nation. For a developing country like Nepal, development of underprivileged children holds the key to progress of the nation itself. Education for underprivileged children is the key whether we are addressing healthcare, poverty, population control, unemployment or human rights issues.
Padhma Creation currently provides tuition funds of $10-15 to each child for studying in a private school of their choice. Currently, we have 20 children in our education scholarship program. As we are a fairly new grassroots enterprise our business operating costs are high but in the future we really hope to have more children in our education scholarship program.
Transparency: To ensure that the family is admitting their children in school we have ask them to bring an annual attendance copy from their school.
Working with local NGO and USAID/IRD, we have provided skill training in knitting to around 90 women in mid-western Nepal.
As full time job opportunities are scarce in Nepal, it is more difficult for women to find work. Many women are happy to be a part of Padhma Creations as they could find continuous employment and education scholarships for their children.
Skill training is essential to help disadvantaged and marginalized people step on the ladder of human development. With our skill training we work towards empowering as many people as possible. Our idea is that if we provide more hand work, more women will be employed and they will provide Stability for themselves and their children.
